Charging via USB-C
On a USB source with a maximum of 5 V / 2 A, the battery is full in 4 to 6 hours. The LED glows red while charging and turns green when the battery is full. A USB-C to USB-C cable works as well.

How do you use the X52 in the dark?
Two programs, switched with five presses while the flashlight is off. Try it: press the switch once, twice or three times, or hold it down. The illustrated flashlight responds exactly as described in the manual.

Stepless dimming
For indoor spaces, technical work and close range: exactly as bright as you need. The manufacturer calls it the Advanced Dimming System.
- Last Setting Memory: The flashlight remembers program and brightness. It does not save BOOST, STROBE, BEACON or SURVIVAL.
- Battery indicator: For the first 5 s after switching on, the LED in the button shows the battery level: green above 80%, orange 30 to 80%, red below 30% with 5 short flashes every 10 min.
- Switch lock: When locked, only SURVIVAL is available, by holding the button. Press four times to unlock.
- Adaptive Cooling: The flashlight adjusts its brightness by itself to protect the battery and electronics from overheating.

What to know before you buy
How bright is the X52 really?
According to the data sheet, the X52 delivers 5,200 lm and 30,700 cd in BOOST, enough for a 350 m beam range. The strongest level measured to ANSI FL1 is HIGH with 1,540 lm at 210 m. Like SURVIVAL, STROBE and BEACON, BOOST lies outside the ANSI measurement.
How long does BOOST last?
The data sheet gives 2 h 45 min as the total runtime in BOOST. This includes the automatic step-down: the Adaptive Cooling Technology lowers the brightness when the battery or electronics get too warm.
How does QUICK-SET work?
The X52 has two programs. Program 1 is set at the factory: holding cycles from LOW I through LOW II and MEDIUM to HIGH, and releasing selects the level. In Program 2 you adjust the brightness steplessly while holding. You switch programs with five quick presses while the lamp is off, and a double flash confirms the change.
What does the switch lock do?
With the lamp off, four quick presses lock the switch, and a double flash confirms it. While locked, only SURVIVAL at 8 lm stays available, by holding the switch down. Four more presses unlock it.
How long does the battery last?
According to the data sheet: 4 h in HIGH at 1,540 lm, 7 h 20 min in MEDIUM, 15 h 25 min in LOW II, 63 h in LOW I and up to 12 days in SURVIVAL at 8 lm. The 21700 battery has 3.7 V and 5000 mAh.
How do I charge the X52?
Open the rubber cover and connect the included USB-C cable to a USB source with a maximum of 5 V / 2 A. The LED glows red while charging and turns green when the battery is full. That takes 4 to 6 h. A USB-C to USB-C cable works too.
Can I swap the battery?
Yes. Unscrew the grip from the head counterclockwise, swap the cell with the positive terminal facing the lamp head, then screw the grip back on clockwise. Mactronic lists the matching 21700 battery with 5000 mAh as RAC0029, and you can get it from us on request.
What does IPX8 mean?
IPX8 stands for protection against continuous immersion. So the X52 survives rain, splashing water and a dip in a stream. On top of that, it is drop-resistant from 1.5 m per ANSI FL1.
X52 or X31?
With 5,200 lm, the X52 is the most powerful flashlight in the Black Eye series, while the X31 reaches farthest with 3,100 lm and 68,500 cd, up to 530 m. If you mainly want to put a lot of light across a wide area, take the X52. If you need to light far into the distance, take the X31. Both use the same 21700 battery type.
Does the battery also fit the H40?
The H40, the R40, the X31 and the X52 all run on a 21700 Li-ion battery with 3.7 V and 5000 mAh. Mactronic offers a shared spare battery for them, RAC0029.
How do warranty and claims work?
Mactronic gives a 5-year warranty on the product and 2 years on the battery. Claims are handled by Rescuevation as the sales and service partner in Germany. You send the device to us, and we coordinate with the factory.
