Three scenarios, one system
The same modules, adapters and nozzles cover gas cylinders, IBCs and objects, and work with any SnakE® setup.

Cool without tying up a crew
A heat-exposed gas cylinder, an IBC next to the seat of the fire: the incident calls for water on the surface, and would otherwise tie up a crew member with the C line exactly where nobody wants to stand.
C line held for hours …
- Nachteil: permanently ties up a crew member in the hazard zone
- Nachteil: keeps personnel in the hazard zone of a possible BLEVE
- Nachteil: uses more water because part of it misses the target
… SnakE® Cooling Set instead
- Vorteil: stationary cooling, operated from cover
- Vorteil: enveloping spray mist or full-area wetting right at the object
- Vorteil: targeted use of water: the crew member is free again for other tasks
The water math
Cool for 24 hours on 95% less water
For 24 hours of continuous cooling, many plant fire departments have relied on two monitors at 2,000 l/min each. The SnakE® Cooling Set needs only approx. 200 l/min. The math:
Two monitors (current practice)
- Water discharge
- 2 × 2,000 l/min
- Per hour
- 240,000 l
- In 24 hours
- 5,760,000 l
- Water cost (2.11 €/1,000 l)
- 12,153.60 €
SnakE® Cooling Set
- Water discharge
- approx. 200 l/min
- Per hour
- 12,000 l
- In 24 hours
- 288,000 l
- Water cost (2.11 €/1,000 l)
- 607.68 €
11,545.92 €
95% less water, at 2.11 € per 1,000 liters. Purchase price 2,999 € ÷ 11,545.92 € savings ≈ 0.26: the Cooling Set pays for itself within its first deployment.
Set up, adjust, take cover
Storz D plus clamps, set up tool-free by the team: from unpacking to pulling back into cover.
-
Position
Modules in a semicircle around the cylinder, adapters on the IBC cage or base stands in front of the object, clamped tool-free.
-
Connect the water
C supply line to the wye, from there 2 × Storz D to the module strings.
-
Adjust pressure
Approx. 2 to 4 bar at the full cone nozzle, 1 to 4 bar at the rotary sprinkler. Maximum working pressure 16 bar.
-
Pull back into cover
Cooling continues without interruption: check water discharge, the incident and the surroundings regularly.
Deployment tipInterchangeable nozzles can be swapped without taking the system down: from full cone to rotary sprinkler nozzle, depending on distance and incident.

Cooling Set FAQs
Answers for crews, equipment officers and procurement.
Didn’t find your question?
We reply within 24 hours, including on procurement and tender questions.
Can I combine the Cooling Set with my existing SnakE® system?
Yes. All components use Storz D and combine freely within one setup.
Does the set prevent a BLEVE or container failure?
No. The set supports cooling and lowers the surface temperature. Whether a container fails depends on many factors: safety distances and tactics remain decisive.
What water supply do I need?
Standard Storz D supply via a C supply line and wye. The total demand depends on the number of modules, nozzles, pressure and hose lengths; guide value for the full cone: approx. 20 l/min per module.
Do I need special tools for setup?
No. The team connects everything tool-free via Storz D couplings and clamps.
Can you purchase on account?
Yes, for public authorities, municipalities and fire departments we offer payment by invoice, XRechnung included. Contact us using the form on this page.
What is the delivery time?
Usually 5-10 working days. Heavy or bulky items are delivered by freight carrier.
