How the Löschigel® works
Water goes in. Your team stays out.
The Löschigel® sits at the front of your sectional ladder. You push it through the door or entrance into the hazard zone, where twelve nozzles distribute the water. Extinguishing and cooling happen up close, while your crews stand outside the heat and smoke.

Wherever the fire lies behind an opening and the way in is straight: parking garage, hall, warehouse, tunnel.

Parking garage
Cool the structure without going in
In an underground parking garage, the heat builds up under the ceiling. The Löschigel® rolls in through the entrance and cools the ceiling and columns with a fine spray mist. Your team stays at the entrance.

Factory and warehouse
Water into the hall, even without sprinklers
Through the hall door, the Löschigel® brings the water to the fire from inside. Smaller plant fire departments in particular do not have to send anyone into the hall for this.

Gas release and smoke
Knock down gas and smoke
When chlorine gas escapes or dense fire smoke fills the room, the fine spray mist binds particles and water-soluble components from the air. The Löschigel® stands in the path of the gas, your crews do not.

Vessel cooling
Cool and shield with a small crew
Gas cylinders, tanks or a hazmat truck involved in an accident need cooling over a long period. Set up in a fixed position, the Löschigel® builds a water curtain and so also protects a holding line.

The Löschigel® goes in, your team doesn’t
If nobody is left in the building but it can still be saved, the water has to get inside anyway. Until now that meant an interior attack or a stream from outside.
Without Löschigel®
- Nachteil: A team in breathing apparatus goes into heat, smoke and the risk of collapse
- Nachteil: From outside, the stream often does not reach the seat of the fire, and the water lands where it has no effect
- Nachteil: A lot of water in an exterior attack means a lot of water damage in the neighboring areas
With Löschigel®
- Vorteil: The Löschigel® rolls into the room on the sectional ladder, your team stays in front of the opening
- Vorteil: Twelve nozzles distribute the water in the room, the fine spray mist cools the structure and smoke gases

Setup
Ready for action in four steps
Sectional ladder, B line, Löschigel®. Every fire department knows the setup from basic training, and you need no tools.

Schritt 1: Hook in
Hook the Löschigel® into the B section of your sectional ladder by its insert section.

Schritt 2: Secure
Lock it in place with the wing nuts. This also works with firefighting gloves on.

Schritt 3: Couple
Couple the B line to the Storz B swivel coupling. Under pressure, the swivel coupling keeps the Löschigel® on track and upright.

Schritt 4: Advance
Extend the sectional ladder and push the Löschigel® on its wheels into the hazard zone. Water on.
With foam, on any ground
You add foam concentrate and wetting agent as usual. The wheels can be unscrewed or swapped for larger ones if the ground is uneven.

The Löschigel® is a stainless steel distributor body with twelve interchangeable nozzles. You control how much water it discharges via the pressure at the pump.

How long does your tank last?
Choose the inlet pressure and your tank capacity. The calculator shows you how much water the Löschigel® discharges and when the tank runs empty.
The calculation is tank capacity divided by flow rate. For a longer operation, you feed the Löschigel® from a water supply via a hydrant or open water.

Löschigel® questions
Does the Löschigel® replace the interior attack?
If people are in the building, the interior attack to rescue them remains mandatory. The Löschigel® is built for the incidents in which nobody is left in the building but the building can still be saved: industrial halls, warehouses, underground parking garages. There it replaces the interior attack or complements it, for example by pre-cooling.
Which sectional ladder do I need?
A sectional ladder per DIN EN 1147, as carried on your fire engine. The Löschigel® sits in the B section with its insert section and is locked in place tool-free with wing nuts.
How large is the safety distance?
Sectional ladder length plus approx. 13 m throw from the nozzles. How far you push the Löschigel® in depends on the number of ladder sections and on the structural access.
Is our pump enough?
At 5 bar the Löschigel® discharges 320 l/min, at 7 bar 375 l/min and at 10 bar 450 l/min, with a maximum of 500 l/min. A fire engine usually delivers this output without difficulty. With a smaller pump, you turn the pressure down accordingly. The water calculator shows you how long your tank lasts.
Does the Löschigel® also work on stairs or in apartments?
It is built for level, straight routes: hall doors, parking garage entrances, warehouse aisles. For apartments with tight corners and narrow stairwells, the classic interior attack remains the standard. On uneven ground, larger wheels help.
What happens if a nozzle clogs?
The nozzles have large free cross-sections and rarely clog. If one does fail, the other eleven take over distributing the water. With the quick-release fastener, you can swap a nozzle even during an operation.
Can I run the Löschigel® with foam?
Yes. You add foam concentrate and wetting agent as usual.
Does the Löschigel® fit under an electric vehicle?
It is too tall for that. For underbody cooling of electric vehicles, we developed the flat SnakE®.
Can my fire department purchase on account?
Yes. Fire departments, municipalities and public authorities purchase from us on account. For your procurement we send you a quote with line items and delivery time, usually within 24 h.
