How to use
Apply pak-ex, massage it in, wipe off with the Water-Wipe. That’s all it takes, even with no faucet nearby.
Put pak-ex straight onto dry skin and spread it over the soiled areas. You don’t need water for this.
Gently massage it in. The clay minerals in pak-ex bind soot and PAHs without stressing the skin barrier.
Take a Water-Wipe from the pack and wipe pak-ex and the dirt off your skin. Repeat with a fresh wipe if needed.
Repeat if neededDon’t forget the interface areas: hands, face, the front and back of the neck, plus the spots where your protective clothing ends: wrists, hips and the legs below the knees. pak-ex is suitable for all skin areas.
The idea
pak-ex binds soot and PAHs to clay minerals. Normally you then wash it off with cold water, but that is exactly what many incident scenes lack. The Water-Wipe brings its own water and takes pak-ex and the dirt off your skin. The result is the same: more than 96% of PAHs are gone¹.

A wet wipe is meant to clean on its own and comes with additives to do it. The Water-Wipe has a different job: it replaces the water, and pak-ex does the cleaning.

No, and that’s by design. A Water-Wipe is 99% water. pak-ex does the cleaning: it binds soot and PAHs, and the wipe lifts both off the skin. It contains no fragrances or penetration enhancers, which increase uptake through the skin.
Yes. According to the manufacturer, pak-ex removes more than 96% of PAHs from the skin even when used with the Water-Wipe. You don’t need a faucet for this.
Yes. The wipes also gently take ordinary dirt off the skin. Against soot and PAHs after a fire call, add pak-ex.
That depends on how large the soiled area is. Each wipe measures 250 × 200 mm. If there is still pak-ex or soot on the skin after the first pass, take a fresh wipe and repeat.
pak-ex is suitable for all skin areas, including the face and the front and back of the neck. The Water-Wipe lifts it off there: with a pH of 4.8 to 5.4, no fragrances and no penetration enhancers.
30 months unopened. Once opened, you should use up the pack within two weeks.
The Water-Wipe is meant for the incident scene, so soot and PAHs don’t stay on your skin until you get back. Back at the station, you shower as usual and use pak-ex there with cold water, at most 32 °C.
