Plan your line

How long is your protective line?

Enter the length. The top view shows to scale how many rotary sprinklers you need and which set fits. Above 88 m, the planner works out the most efficient combination.

Draufsicht: 4 Kreisregner im Abstand von 12 m sichern eine geschlossene Schutzlinie von etwa 64 m zwischen Brandfront und Bebauung. 12 m ≈ 64 m geschlossene Schutzlinie

Calculation: secured protective line ≈ (number − 1) × 12 m sprinkler spacing + 28 m spray circle of the two end sprinklers. 12 m = 15 m D hose minus approx. 1.5 m per side for connection and routing (manufacturer recommendation). Spray circle Ø 28 m at 4 bar, water demand per sprinkler approx. 4-24 l/min in the recommended pressure range of 1-4 bar, setup approx. 2 minutes per position.

How it unfolds

When the fire heads for buildings

Three phases, one set of equipment: from the holding line through property protection to the mop-up phase, the rotary sprinkler holds the line so that no building is lost.

SnakE® rotary sprinkler on the stand, brass nozzle with wire lever and Storz D (25 mm) connection

52-88 mContinuous protective line

Set up a holding line

If the fire front is heading for buildings, you place the rotary sprinklers at 12 m intervals between the fire and the property, on a tree or on the stand. From 2 bar they rotate on their own and lay down a continuous water wall.

SnakE® rotary sprinkler strapped to a tree, sprinkling in progress in front of a building in a conifer forest

0Responders tied up at the nozzle

Keep property wet

You protect buildings, industrial halls and tank farms with straps directly on the structure: facades and roofs are wetted down vertically and stay wet throughout. Your crews keep their distance from the heat zone.

Open Euro box of the SnakE® rotary sprinkler set with hoses, modules and quick guide in the lid

All night longNo personnel tied up

Secure the mop-up

Once the fire is out, the sprinklers keep the area wet and prevent rekindling and root fires, all night long. Less water evaporates in the dark, and the water soaks deeper into the ground.

The bottom line

  • Continuous protective line: set of 3 ≈ 52 m, set of 6 ≈ 88 m
  • Property protection without a team tied up at the nozzle position
  • No rekindling, without tying up personnel overnight

Awarded and in service

Awarded by a jury that works in the field

vfdb Excellence Award 2025

vfdb Excellence Award 2025

for the SnakE® modular extinguishing system

The vfdb, the German Fire Protection Association, honors innovations in fire protection every year. Its jury includes experts from career fire departments, universities and research institutes.

The rotary sprinkler is one of the SnakE® modules.

Highlighted by the jury

  1. Modularity 3, 4 or 6 sprinklers in one Euro box. Expandable at any time via D hose, and you can buy single sprinklers later.
  2. Versatility On a tree, on the stand, on a facade or in line: holding line, property protection, mop-up and gas cylinder cooling with the same equipment.
  3. Intuitive to use Fit the strap, couple the D hose, set the sector with the wire lever. Tool-free, approx. 2 minutes per position.

Voices from fire departments that use SnakE®Said about the SnakE® spray bar, which works with the same modules.

A team used to have to walk alongside the vehicle with the nozzle in sweltering heat. Today the crew members stay in the vehicle, a driver and pump operator are enough. That takes a real load off our people.

Versatile mounting

One sprinkler, many uses

The same rotary sprinklers work on a tree, on the stand, on a facade or in line, and you decide at the incident scene.

StrapSnakE Kreisregner mit Messingkopf auf der Bodenplatte montiert

On a tree

For steep areas and slopes: the sprinkler is strapped to the trunk and waters reliably even on a gradient, the lightest rotary sprinkler system for tree mounting.

SnakE® rotary sprinkler on the stand: brass impulse nozzle with deflector, shut-off valve, stainless steel module with aluminum Storz D couplings and anodized mount

Built for the field

Each part has a purpose

Stainless steel, brass and anodized aluminum: the rotary sprinkler is built for soot, extinguishing water and transport in the field. Developed and manufactured in Germany.

  1. Deflector and diffuser screw Sit at the head of the brass impulse nozzle (4 mm, 1/2 inch) and regulate throw height and spray width. Throw up to 14 m, Ø 28 m at 4 bar.
  2. Sector adjustment Sets how far the nozzle rotates: from 20° up to a full circle of 360°, by hand without tools. At the stop, the sprinkler reverses direction on its own.
  3. Wire lever Flip it over, and the sprinkler switches between full circle and part circle.
  4. Integrated shut-off valve Each sprinkler can be turned on and off individually.
  5. V4A stainless SnakE® module The core component: carries the nozzle and passes the water on to the next sprinkler.
  6. Aluminum Storz D coupling 25 mm, on both sides: the D hose couples on from sprinkler to sprinkler.
  7. Anodized AlMg4.5Mn mount Stand and tree mount in one: set it up freestanding or strap it to a tree, beam or fence post.

Step by step

Setup at the incident scene

Four steps from the Euro box to a running water wall, approx. 2 minutes per position.

  1. Pick a position

One sprinkler every 12 m along your protective line: on a tree, on the stand or strapped to the structure. The 15 m D hose leaves you around 1.5 m of slack per side for connection and routing.

  2. Attach

Tighten the strap around the trunk or structure, or set up the stand, tool-free, by one person.

  3. Couple the D line

Link the sprinklers with the pre-assembled 15 m D hoses and connect them to the water supply.

  4. Adjust sector & spray

Flip the wire lever: full circle or part circle, with the sector adjustable from 20° to 360°. Wire clips limit the sector, while the deflector and the diffuser screw set the throw height and spray width, all by hand.

Deployment tipLet the sprinklers keep running at night: less water evaporates in the dark, so the water soaks deeper into the ground and secures the area more efficiently.

Add to your system

From the line to the area

Three products that work with the rotary sprinkler set: getting water into the line, boosting the wetting effect, protecting the vehicle itself.

  1. Supply

    Wildfire Wye Twin

Couples into the B supply line and delivers water while the supply keeps running: two Storz D outlets, an integrated sprinkler with pressure reducer and a pressure outlet for external sprinklers.

FAQs

Direct line

We help with sizing and procurement, from the sprinkler spacing to the quote for the municipal finance office.

Why Storz D and not C?

Weight and coupling. A C (52 mm) length weighs several times as much as a D length. One responder carries several D lengths plus a rotary sprinkler uphill and through undergrowth, without tying up a second team to carry hose. Storz D is standardized, so every D length already on the vehicle fits.

Why 12 m sprinkler spacing with 15 m hoses?

Experience shows that around 1.5 m of hose per side is lost at the incident scene to connection and routing. That is why you plan with an effective sprinkler spacing of 12 m: this keeps the water wall unbroken even when you route the hose around vegetation or terrain features.

How do I set the spray radius?

Flipping the wire lever switches between full circle and part circle, with the sector adjustable from 20° to 360°. The two wire clips on the pipe section limit the sector, the deflector regulates the throw height and the diffuser screw the spray width, all by hand without tools.

What pressure does the rotary sprinkler need to work?

The recommended range is 1-4 bar. From 2 bar, the sprinkler rotates on its own and automatically reverses its direction of rotation at the set end points.

Does someone have to stand next to the rotary sprinkler?

No, operation spares personnel. After setup, approx. 2 minutes per position, the sprinkler delivers water continuously, overnight too. One responder observes from a safe distance and checks the water supply and sector at regular intervals.

Can I extend a set later?

Yes. Using the standard D hoses, you extend any protective line modularly, with single rotary sprinklers or another set.

Does the rotary sprinkler also protect buildings at the forest edge?

Yes. That is exactly what the set is designed for: with straps you fix the sprinklers directly to the facade, carport or roof edge and keep the structure wet continuously. This creates a protective line in front of residential buildings (wildland-urban interface) while your teams work at the front.

Can I cool gas cylinders with the rotary sprinkler?

Yes. The rotary sprinkler nozzle continuously applies water to threatened gas cylinders from a distance. This means no responder has to stay in the hazard zone for long, a clear safety gain with acetylene cylinders in particular.

What goes with the rotary sprinkler set?

The Wildfire Wye Twin with two Storz D outlets for the water supply from the B line, Retardant Euro-FC for mixing in and the SnakE® spray bar for vehicle self-protection. You can add everything to your order right here.
